Most of the classical Indian dance forms have a high degree of stylized expressions, either through facial dispositions or through your body and frame positions. For example, as in Kathak, as many stories revolve around the purity of love between God Krishna and the Goddess Radha, what we see is a tapestry of detailed footwork, fast pirouettes and statuesque poses to render a gentle sensuality in the exhibition. As the motion flows beautifully from one end to the other, they all seem really interlocked to each other. We do not see a sudden movement starting somewhere – they’re always connected to the previous one and it is that sequence that narrates the story of love.
